Hi! I want to speak with you about the symbol of peace because my country knew difficult moments during the period of colonization. In my opinion, the project to build a cultural center is a recognition of the Kanak and Oceanian culture; it is located on a 8 hectares ground given by the town of Noumea in 1992. Tjibaou C C was drawn by the Italian architect Renzo Piano and was inaugurated on May 4th, 1998. It is a place of self-defining affirmation and a space of meeting and cultural creation. By its original configuration, where everyone can find in the same place a center of art, a museum, a room, spaces of shows and a specialized library, the Tjibaou CC offers a multiplicity of cultural events.
