MUSIC

Hello! I am going to speak to you about music played in my country. In my Kanak country, the music is sung in various languages everywhere in New Caledonia. I like the music coming from the Loyalty islands (Maré, Lifou, Ouvea) especially in my tribe in Mare; the band is called Nodeak. I like it very much because the leader sings their songs very well. Their songs speak about the custom and the legends. When I listen to these songs, the words make me closer to my ancestors. These words remind me that there are things which we always have to practise. Diane, LDKom
